Old equipment being removed

The old play equipment has now been removed from the play area, in readiness for opening up the new play area and to make sure the area is safe for the children.

It was decided that the old equipment was no longer fit for purpose and was starting to be unsafe.  It also did not meet the requirements for older children - something that was raised in the Village Plan and also by the children in the questionnaire which formed part of the consultation done by the PC regarding the play area.

Repairs would not have been cost-effective and removal would have also been expensive. The PC (acting as the Sole Charitable Trust) decided that an offer from the Horncastle Wildlife Park, to remove the equipment at no cost, should be accepted. The equipment will be reinstated (partially or fully) for use by the monkeys at the wildlife park.

You will soon be able to see the equipment being used by the monkeys if you visit the wildlife park in Horncastle, where there will be an acknowledgement of where the equipment came from.
