Neighbourhood Watch Report November 2024.

Since our last report in September we have had a few suspicious incidents
in our village .

In October a villager noticed lights around one of the unoccupied lodges
on Royal View  Hagnaby Road.
The owner was contacted and they said they were not expecting anyone at
the lodge.
The police were called out but nothing was found .
Hopefully if anyone had been there they had been disturbed by the villager
and hopefully won’t return .

Suspicious person in our village .
I was contacted by a villager from Hagnaby Road about a young man who was acting suspiciously in their road .
He stopped to ask them if there was a shop in the village . He appeared to be on foot .
He was between 20-30 years old . He was approximately 6ft tall and very slim wearing black jogging bottoms and a grey / green Parker style coat .
He walked off but kept stopping to look behind .

A villager spoke to this male along Chapel Lane and this male said he did not know where he was and wanted directions to the nearest shop .
He said he had had an argument with his girlfriend and she had ditched him here with just a tent and no mobile phone .
This same villager noticed a tattoo on the left side of this male's neck
which he thought said Rogue Dogs .

I drove around the village but could not see him . I saw a dog walker who told me he was camping in the rout yard .
I went to the castle towards the rout yard where another dog walker told me that a male was knocking on doors asking for cigarettes and matches .
He had said his camper van had broken down .
He kept changing his story .

As we were talking this male appeared and started to make his way through to the rout yard gate .
I asked him if he was camping there but he carried on waking and shouted over his shoulder that he was going to pack up and go . I asked him where he came from and he said Boston . He continued on his way towards where his tent was pitched .

It could have innocent and harmless but he should not be camping in the rout yard and knocking on doors .
I rang it in on 101 and also made our Neighbourhood Policing Team aware .
Incident number 30/10/2024 229 .
I also sent them cctv footage which had been sent to me of this male walking along Moat Lane and then knocking at the Black Horse Pub front and back door . He was asking them for a lighter and cigarettes .

Our Neighbourhood Policing Team Daniel Green and Andy Beard came out a couple of times and tried to locate this male without success .
They managed to find his tent tucked away in a hedgerow .Unfortunately it was empty and there was no sign of any of his belongings . They left their card behind and asked the male to contact them if he was a rough sleeper .
If he was one they said they could provide him with advice and make referrals to other agencies to get him help.
They thought it was odd and they wondered how did he arrive here . There is no transport and this is a rural village .
They wanted to locate this person to find out for what reason he was in our village and also if he was a rough sleeper why would he leave his tent behind .

The police have a care of duty to keep our village safe but also a care of duty to make sure this male was also safe .
They suggested if he did not return then the tent should be removed .
I spoke to Councillor Wills Wright about the tent and she kindly contacted Heritage Lincolnshire who came out and removed it and put it into storage incase this male came back and suggested we had stolen his tent .
