Neighbourhood Watch Report May 2024.

It’s been very quiet in our village for the last couple of months .

The only incident I have to report is a villager who lives up at High Barn .

She reported that a car being driven too fast with a noisy exhaust scared her horses

 in her field.

She has cctv footage and will be sending it into the police.

There are no other incidents to report in our village .

Please remain vigilant and alert at all times.

Surrounding areas from our Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Thousands of pounds worth of tools and equipment have been stolen from vans

in the Horncastle and Coningsby area.

The offences all happened over night where work vans have been targeted and

items stolen.

A number of empty tool boxes and tool bags have been found in Mareham on the Hill.

In the early hours of this morning whilst looking for a missing person

in the Tattershall area one of our patrols stopped a vehicle which did not contain

the missing person but also did not have car insurance .

The car was seized and the driver will be prosecuted.

The police have had reports of workers attending properties and offering

their left over materials to repair driveways and footpaths free of charge .

They are then demanding money on the completion of the work.

Five youths were stopped by police in a derelict building in Coningsby and will

be dealt with using anti social behaviour legislation .

Derelict buildings are dangerous and entering them may make you liable to arrest

for causing damage or suspicion of burglary.

The public contacted the NPT about a scooter being ridden anti socially

by youths in the Coningsby area .

They attended and the scooter is now in police possession.

The rider had no helmet or a driving licence or insurance.

A police patrol stopped a car in the Horncastle area .The driver failed a roadside

drugs wipe and was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs .

They also stopped and seized another car in Horncastle that was travelling to

the coast . It turned out to be a stolen car.

 The driver was arrested.

A police patrol stopped a car in Spilsby . The driver had no insurance so the car

was seized . The driver will be prosecuted.

Lincolnshire Rural Crime Action Team said they were seeing an increase in thefts

from churches within Lincolnshire.

Many of these items were hundreds of years old.

They often hold no value but they are priceless to the church , congregation

and of course the community .

They are also irreplaceable and lost forever.

Four men were caught and fined £20,000 after they destroyed farmers fields

and were caught with possession of hare coursing equipment and dogs .

The police gave a warning that anyone thinking about travelling to Lincolnshire

to commit offences their message is clear - don’t.

If you do we will find you and you will be punished.
