Minutes of the Ramsden Hall Village Committee Meeting held on 18th June 2019
Those present: Julia Alexander, Rowland Alexander, Roy Hallam (Chair), Yvonne Norbron, Pam Powell, Debs Talmage, Carol Wilby,

Matters arising: None


Finances: Rowland gave a finances report as follows
• Balance to end of May £10433.23 Pam verified this and initialled the bank statement on behalf of the PC.
• Petty cash £90.89
• Plant sales £1340 + further £245. Everyone expressed their grateful thanks to Roy.
• Payments - £49.99 for an extended hose for the hanging baskets, £13.48 for hand towels, £60 to Ken James for shelving work, £28.11 for April electricity and £43.39 for May electricity.
• Dan the electrician has yet to submit his bill.
• The premises licence has been paid for and it is displayed in the hall.
• Donations: £135 from residents who accommodated Wallacea personnel, £154 from tea/coffee sales at the plant sale and £100 from Luncheon Club.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Village Hall
• Shelving has been done in the kitchen and the sewing cupboard.
• There is a damp patch on the main room ceiling. This may be due to the recent severe weather. Roy will keep an eye on it.
• Outside areas need tidying and Roy will ask for volunteers.
• Some maintenance is needed on the chairs to avoid snags when the chair covers are used.
• The disabled toilet needs repairing to avoid a water leak. Roy to ask Ken to attend to this.
• Door strips will be put on the front doors to stops leaves and draughts.


Bookings:
• Usual Hall users
• Toynton School for sleepover 27/28th June
• Marcelle Todd – July 19th July for FOBC
• 17th August birthday party
• 20th December Wallacea Christmas party.
• Pam suggested it was time to review the cost of hiring the hall. After discussion it was decided that Rowland and Carol would check hire charges at local village hall and report back to the next meeting.
• However it was noted that Quilters’ Patch paid a rate considerably lower than others and they are going to be asked to pay double what they pay at present from 2nd August 2019.
• Pam has provisionally booked July 28th and November 24th for birthday parties.
Proposed extension to the hall
• Plans have been submitted to ELDC for pre planning advice. Pam has been contacted by planners who hope to respond by 21st June.
• Pam told the committee she is going to raise the possibility of creating an overflow carpark at the PC meeting.
Planned Events/Fund Fundraising.
• 30th June Garage and plant sale
• 5th July Quiz night – Bruce Talmage as quizmaster
• 7th July Mad Hatters tea party
• 29th November Motown music. Numbers to be limited to 50 £8/head

Chairs are not to be past the kitchen door to allow access to the fridge
